Secret Mountain Retreat Edits

I know I’ve been reposting a lot of stuff that isn’t my work lately, but  that’s because I’ve been coming across such interesting things that I’ve felt compelled to share with you all.  So I have.

But tonight, some originals.

I’m not one to do a lot of post-processing.  I figure, if I can’t get the shot right in the camera, there’s not much I’m going to be able to do afterward to make it any better.

That’s the logic anyway.  And there’s a certain truth to it.  I think.

But sometimes, when done well, processed images can add flavor? depth? character?  I dunno, but they can add something.  So tonight I edited some of my faves from the Secret Mountain Retreat weekend to try and bring out some of those traits.  I’m not saying that I was successful, just that I tried. :-P

Click on any image to see a larger version.  We’re gonna work our way from most saturated to least, sort of. Enjoy!

The Champ.  Tried to bring some detail out of the snow to give you a better idea just how much of it there was.

End of the Road.

Like Cream in Your Coffee.

I read a lot of crime fiction.  This is morbid, but this picture makes me think of death.  Like, ‘the killer, he’s lurking out there…’

The Staredown.

The Staredown, pt 2.

I don’t know what to call this.  But I dig it.
