Fifth Street ‘Cross and Goat Milk

Last Thursday I tagged along with Jay and Larry to Fifth Street CX.  It was a bit of a hike for me, but well worth it.  The race goes like this, you can go the long way around the course (4 lap race), or take the shortcut.  But to take the shortcut you’ve got to press your digestive track into service.  Last Thursday was the ‘Night of the Goat’.

Yeah.

To take the shortcut you had to drink a glass of Goat’s Milk.  Like this:

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  Sunset in Emmaus, PA, prior to the race start:

Sun goes down, lights come out:

It was really dark:

On the left, racers wanting to take the shortcut.  On the right, racers who didn’t want to throw up:

CX isn’t CX without barriers to negotiate:

Like I said, it was worth it just to see those guys suffer through glass after glass of goats milk.  Bleck!
