Floyd Bennett Field – Aug 25, 2009

I stand corrected.  Tonight wasn’t the final round of the FBF series, next week is.  Although, I’d have been fine if things ended tonight as the light could not have been better!  No clouds in the sky and a bright afternoon/evening sun made for some great light.

Cat 5, breaking away:

3/4′s w/ a helicopter escort (a little lower perspective.  I was laying on the ground for this):

FBF:

For this last photo, the sun was setting and throwing this great purple light on the face of the FBF hangar.  I was too lazy to pull out the camera in my backpack, so I used my point and shoot.  It still takes great pics, huh?  Even though it looks like this:

Jan 4 pt 2

Jan 4 pt 1

For reference, this is what it looked like before I got my grubby hands on it:

(yes, the WB is off on my photos, but I don’t care to correct it) To sum, the lens cover is missing, it won’t zoom anymore and the battery cover is held in place by scotch tape.  I don’t care, it still takes pics!

Full gallery of tonight’s photos available here, and here.

  • Isn’t it crazy that we’re both Half-Kenyan dudes from Illinois who went to Harvard, who’ve been on the cover of Rolling Stone, and play basketball, and have resoundingly good looks?
