Good news!  I hooked up with NYVelocity to shoot the local NYC bike races for their website. :-)  Saturday morning I shot round 7 of the Cadence Cup in Prospect Park, and on Sunday I shot the Tour of Governors Island.

I also had a buddy in town Thursday/Friday/Saturday, meaning my weekend was full of late nights…and because I was shooting races…early mornings.

Saturday morning was round 7 of the Cadence Cup in Prospect Park.  That meant getting up at 5am.  Laying down at 2am Friday night with a few beers rolling around my stomach made the sound of my alarm painful indeed.

Regardless, I pushed through, made it out and was treated to this sunrise.  Again, I rode my bike out, and got to see the sunrise over the Williamsburg Bridge.

Sunday morning I hooked up with Craig to shoot the Tour of Governors Island.  The race was a criterium, 1 hour in length, starting at 11am.  This meant much better light, and more opportunities to photograph the racers.

A few notes:

1) Gov’s Island is a breeze to get to.

2) I’ll be spending more time there in the near future, count on it.

3) Sunday was super muggy.

After getting back to Manhattan on Sunday, Craig and I grabbed a bite to eat at the South Street Seaport for some overpriced food and great tourist watching.  O, and we watched a street performer bend and twist in so many inappropriate ways.
