In October of 2008 I went hiking with some friends to Kaaterskill Falls in upstate NY.  One of the pics I took was this:

I thought it was a pretty neat shot.  So, I sent it to Outside Magazine’s photo blog.  They’ve been doing a weekly reader photo critique.  Mine made the cut and was critiqued in January of 2009.  You can check it out, here.

It reads,

6. The Rock Jump: Great action, but where’s this guy’s head? When you’re setting up a “huck shot” like this, think about where his face is going to be. It’s not a must to have a face in there, but at least give us a head—or a clear reason for it to be missing. Consider the onlookers as well. If they add to the shot by giving the size of the huck perspective, leave them. If not, ask them to move.

There ya go.  Sorry I cut your head off, Jeff!
